The Highways Division has been awarded a £2.3m contract by Lands Improvement Holdings, a London based strategic land development company, to carry out preliminary highways works (section 38) at a 97 acre site at Gateford North in Worksop in readiness for the construction of a new housing development.
Planning approval has already been secured for up to 750 new homes on the site along with a new school and community open space and facilities. It is located on the northern edge of Worksop at Gateford Park, adjacent to the recently constructed development at Gateford.
NM Group’s Highways Division will be creating the roads for the new housing infrastructure which will include landscaped urban drainage system (SUDS) to manage the surface water drainage requirements for the new housing development. It will also entail close coordination with the power supply contractor that will be delivering the utility infrastructure for the site.
“We are extremely pleased that we have been successful in securing this new contract in Worksop,” said Geoff Poyzer, managing director of the Highways division of NM Group. “It is the first time that we have worked with Lands Improvement Holdings and we hope very much that it is the start of a long term relationship with the company. They operate nationally and we hope to have the opportunity to work with them on other schemes too.”
