This project for the University of Nottingham was located on their Sutton Bonnington Camps at the North Laboratory. The laboratory is home is Nutritional Biochemistry which forms part of the School of Biosciences at the university.
The project involved refurbishing the existing building and constructing a three storey extension to the front facade of the building. The interior of the building was stripped out and new boundaries established within to create new laboratory facilities and forms part of the Universities’ plan to create a multidisciplinary Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) laboratory for two hundred students. The new facilities are fitted out with state of the art equipment and meets world-leading containment and safety standard.
The project was based within the a live campus environment, in order to minimise disruption to the neighbouring occupants, the site accommodation was placed behind the scheme and was self contained. Deliveries were timed to the requirements of the universities activities. The scheme was completed to a challenging programme.
