Leeds Private Street Works Framework
A £1.8m series of upgrading of private residential access roads to adoption standards on behalf of Leeds City Council. The works variously incuded drainage, kerbing, footway works, ducting and street lighting.
A key feature was the need to maintain access to the properties requiring close liaison with the residents. This was successfully carried out, reulting in the following testimonial being received from a grateful resident, which demonstrates that our procedures reach the teams on the ground:-
The real purpose of my letter is to express my overwhelming thanks to you as a Company. And to your team of lads........... They have always taken the residents thoughts and feelings into consideration.......... always made sure that the access to our property was there and there was not a problem. They always asked us if how they left things was acceptable............. Mrs Karen Bradley to Mr T Knowles of Mouchel Parkman.

Narborough Road Junction Upgrading
This was a complex project on a very busy junction on the main A5460 western access into Leicester City Centre. The site was close to the M1 Junction 21 and Fosse Park and a key feature was the requiremnt to keep the traffic flowing through the junction and avoid blocking back to the motorway junction. This was achieved by tight programming of initial works to re-format the junction layout and a contractural requirement to carry out all the surfacing works at night. The works included the maintenance of the existing traffic signals through the works, the installation of some 60 traffic signal poles and heads and the associated drainage, carriageway and street furniture works.

MAC7 Trunk Road Maintenance Commission
We are the Principal Sub-contractor to AMScott, a consortium of Alfred McAlpine and Scott Wilson, for carrying out the discrete packages of maintenance work for the MAC7 Commission on behalf of the Highways Agency. This is a four year commission for some £3m p.a. which has now been extended a further three years because of customer satisfaction. The works variously comprise junction upgradings, highway improvements, provision of bus lay bys on major routes, upgrading of motorway signage, emergency repairs, installation of crossovers on the M1, drainage works, structural and environmetal works. Key features are the frequent requirement to carry out the works at night, which requires careful resource planning and the need for flexibility. NMC can readily accommodate these, with their in-house resource of some 270 staff and 750 operatives, who retain the skills they learn on these works in-house.
