Ferrybridge Power Station Flue Gas Desulpherisation (FGD)
North Midland Construction are providing civils works to facilitate the installation and operation Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) plants at Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station. Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station is located close to Warrington, Cheshire, England. Three of the four existing coal fired boilers of 500 MWe each are to be equipped with an FGD according to limestone / gypsum process.

Ferrybridge Power Station is located at Stranglands Lane, Knottingley; West Yorkshire, England. Two of the four existing coal fired boilers of 500 MWe each shall be equipped with an FGD according to limestone / gypsum process.

Kingsnorth Biomass
Power
Renewable fuel (Biomass) feed system to
fossil fuelled power station. The system will cater for
a range of renewable fuel options being fed into the coal
streams for combustion in the existing coal fired boilers.
Plant and M & E work is the responsibility of NMC's sister
company, Nomenca.
The project included the design and construction
of:
Bunkerage
Silos
Conveyors
Fuel feed systems including M & E provision
Fully integrated SCADA System.
Dust suppression

FKearsley 132Kv GIS Substation
Design and Construction of an indoor gas insulated switchgear (GIS) building, associated infrastructure and external works to house the 15 bay double busbar GIS for UUE and 6 bay double busbar switchgear for NGC, and associated works.

Nechells West
Substation
Commissioned by GPU Power this project required
the rebuild of an existing 132Kv Substation to supply the
power requirements to Network Rail's local infrastructure.
Adjacent to the M6 at Gravelly Hill Interchange (Spaghetti
Junction) the contract called for the complete construction
and security measure requirements. The contract was completed
at £616,000.

Thorpe & Trowse
Substation, Norwich Plant
These two grid supply substations were constructed
in inter-related phases to meet the clients total project
requirement. The contract involved demolition of existing
structures and construction of new bases, bunds and switchrooms.
Both substations and ancillary works were constructed for
£1,005,000.
