What is your current role and what projects are you working on?

I am a Civils Operative working with South West Water

What attracted you to NM Group?

I was working on a site when some lads from the Plymouth office mentioned a civils opening, so I went for it.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Nice to be at the start of the Civils journey with Nomenca and building a civils team from scratch with them.

What is the most important thing you have learnt since working at NM Group?

That there is lots of opportunities for training.

What tips would you have to someone looking at applying for a job here?

This is a good company to work for with plenty of opportunities to progress.

What is your current role?

I’m a Contracts Manager in the Highways and Utilities division.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

Working with a focussed, enthusiastic team on a variety of challenging framework contracts and projects.

What piece of advice would you give to someone looking to apply for a job here?

Working for NM Group is an opportunity to join a growing and long established, family orientated construction company, with a solid reputation.

How would you describe the working environment here?

You can be working under pressure but we are working to exceed client expectations and manage a productive workforce who can produce quality work, safe.

What is your current position at NM Group and what is your typical day like?

I’m a Contracts Manager working on a framework with South West Water. We have 70 people doing all types of different work and I have to manage them and make sure they are delivering according to client satisfaction.

How did you get to your current role?

I was working for a competitor in the same role and then came across to Nomenca to help them develop specific sides of the business.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Seeing my team perform to a high standard and succeed – there’s nothing more satisfying that seeing someone who you interviewed or took from the tools to the office finding their feet and being confident and performing. Receiving client feedback to say how well my team are doing is great.

How would you describe the working environment at NM Group?

It can be very intense at times and demanding but we try to make it as fun as we can. We like to take opportunities and enjoy them.

What piece of advice would you give to someone who is applying for a job at NM Group?

If you don’t want to just go through the motions and you want to really challenge yourself and be stretched and be under pressure, then apply for a job here!

What current projects are you working on and what is your role?

I’m a Project Manager working on Glenfield Highways scheme and public improvement project in Leicester to improve pavements and highways.

What attracted you to NM Group?

That is was a hands-on contractor, not just managing. This means that we can actually go out there and do stuff ourselves and get really involved with our projects.

What has been your highlight since you started working here?

The variety of different jobs I have got involved in - it keeps it interesting and exciting.

What is the most important thing you’ve learnt since working here?

To plan all my work very well and make sure it gets implemented successfully and we’re doing the job well.

How would you describe the working environment at NM Group?

At times it is chaotic but on the whole it’s very positive and rewarding

What tips would you give to someone looking to apply for a job here?

Just to go for it and if you’re willing to put in the effort, you will get great job satisfaction and reward.
